Rajdhani Thali is a chain of restaurants all across Mumbai. First up it is a pure vegetarian Rajasthani Thali restaurant. So once you are seated there will be probably 8-10 specialised servers giving you things ranging from dal baati choorma to palak paneer to meethi dal to patra to Aam ras and the list can go on.
A good place to have a thali which is on the sweeter side, which I am not very fond of as I like spicy food more. However, taste wise everything is good and hospitality is excellent. They serve food quickly and pamper you just like a family member. Thali prices are lower on Tuesday so visiting then is the best bet.
At the entrance of the Rajdhani, we were greeted in a very traditional Indian way with a flower laden Pooja thali, Chandan tilak and led inside by the manager. What followed was an authentic, Royal Banquet! It started with washing hands in a brass basin, by the warm water poured from a brass Suraee. Refreshingly cool, sweet & sour Kairi-Panhe or Mango Lassi as per diner's choice.
They have an unending list of food items to be served, some of them being Chana chaat, Paneer Aalu, Ker Sangri ( Rajasthani special vegetable ), Aalu matar, Mataki oosal, Aam Kadhi, sweet & sour Mango Dal dhokli, Dal Bati , Vegetable korma , Rajsthani khichadi ,soft, fluffy Mango Ring Dhokla, Dahi chaat , Kairi Chilli samosa ( yum!), Raw Mango Pachdi , Mix achar , lasoon chutney , Mango chhoonda , Aam bhare Papad roll, Koordai , Aam ras-Poori, Aam ki launji Moong Dal Halwa , Mango Jalebi , Choorma ladoo and what not.
Even though it has an above average rating on Zomato., it is still one of the best places in town to get on some really good Gujrati/Rajasthani thali!
Awesome place for medium class family stay or bachelors.
Good view of Mumbai local trains.
Good view of front side rooms for images of a busy road.
