Great place for some fantastic Goan food and the bakery products are just too good. Try their pork vindaloo, sorpotel, goan sausages and beef chilli as these dishes are really very tasty and worth the price too. Small place with slow service but the food is what you come here for so just enjoy that!!!
When we talk about Goan food in Mumbai, the first name that invariably comes up is Martins corner in colaba. So when C Dsouza came up as an option for Goan meal we were all surprised. Anyways the adventurous people that we are we decided to visit this place.
Location wise this place is right opposite Our Lady of Dolors church near Marine lines station. As you enter the lane you get a typical Susegaad feel. So the mood was already set for a Goan meal.
They have a very small but focussed menu that makes ordering easier. We settle down in this spacious restaurant and proceed with our ordering. Our order included Beef chilly fry, Beef steak fry, Kheema, Goan Sausage fry. Trust me whatever we had ordered that day was good enough for me to say this place is one of the best for Goan cuisine.
The place does not have a lot of tables but a big hall and spacious seating. The service is decent. In terms of prices, C Dsouza is slightly more expensive then other Goan restaurants in the area. A meal for 2 will put you back by Rs500/-.
Just a word of caution. The food depends on the cooks mood. A few friends who visited this place a few days earlier were not too impressed by the food. Having said that I would still recommend this place to be on your must visit list.
Amazing place… although we were late they welcomed us and didn’t let us leave without some food. We had the Chicken Xacuti, Mutton curry, Rice and Pav and for desserts Blueberry & Strawberry tarts. The food is well cooked and the hospitality is 10/0. They close at 7.30 pm so if you want to have a taste of Goa in the heart of Mumbai you definitely need to come here
