Deepak Kapure

Named after Lord Sandhurst, the Governor of Bombay between 1895 and 1900, the station was built in 1910 using funds from the Bombay City Improvement Trust, which he helped raise. The Sandhurst Road railway station (upper level servicing the Harbour Line) was built in 1921.

Ojaswikrishna Dube

One of the few Railway station on Indian railway network which has platforms on two levels. Platform no. 1 & 2 are on lower level which belong to Central line and platform no. 3 & 4 are on upper level which are harbour line both belong to Central Railway. The station is old British era still having the plate of Great Indian Peninsular Railway sign on platform no.3 & 4.

Sandhurst road Railway station is one of the best railway station in Mumbai. It is very clean, doesn’t matter what time you visit the station. The Station manager Mr. Vinayak Shewale is the man behind all this good work. Be it the security for female passengers, quick response for passengers who get injured while travelling and also the tree plantation and making sure that the station premises and platforms clean. Always love to visit this station whenever I have work in that area. Don’t forget to check the British time architecture if you here and also say hi to this lovely dashing SM Mr. Shewale.
