Came across this restaurant as I was walking towards the train station from Jaganmohan Palace. As the name suggests, Southindies serves traditional South Indian food. The menu is not extensive, but most of the dishes were instantly recognisable as South Indian. I went with the familiar Masala Dosa and a Badami Milk. The Masala Dosa is served in the Mysore style, which to me is more spicy than other cities of Karnataka. The Badami milk was also fairly standard, sweet with the taste of condensed milk.
Overall, an enjoyable meal at reasonable price.
You must have the dishes filed out here atleast once, the prices are quite affordable and the taste isn't compromised and hopefully neither will the quality, according to the manager the prices won't differ. The place is very neat and clean with spacious seating available for all, there is enough air circulation too so that the restaurant doesn't feel stuffy. They provide filtered and purified water for the convenience of the customers. The restaurant is a self service type and that can be reflected in your bill as they don't charge for the service. It's usually full of people and it's quite visible to all from the traffic. The manager says they open every day at 6 in the morning and you can get tea, coffe and other simple breakfast on the menu, to try the dosas you will have to wait till 7 at the max, they keep open officially tillI10 but can may be go upto 10.45. all in all its a place you must try and I can assure you that you will keep coming back.
Another bit of info for those who care, this is owned by Sidhartha, Olive Garden and Windflower Group of Hotels.
Food is very tasty and the place is very clean. Took one star off as they don't have the food on their menu available at all times, so if you want something that's not there at the time, but it's on their menu, you have to compromise. Apart from that, lovely food and good place.
