What a stunning setting 'by the lake'. Great coffee, fascinating decor, wonderful music... What an ideal cafe should be made of. Basic menu but well thought of. Fresh bakery, cheeses and other dairy products available on retail. Must visit if you are in the lake area

We keep visiting Naukuchiyatal and Café by the Lake is our staple - be it breakfast, brunch or evening tea/coffee. The ambience, the vibe, the music - all of it stands out and makes the whole experience unique.
Talking about the main component - food .. it's as good as any decent Café in New Delhi which is difficult to find in the hills. They offer a variety of sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, sides and breakfast which taste great. The waffles however were not very great.
Ambience is a very important factor of experience here. Raw walls with cozy seating spaces and windows with lovely green plants make you want to not leave for hours. If you're into Jazz, blues or classics, you'll instantly fall in love with the vibe. Even if you're not, the combined experience here will suddenly make you like such music. They've a vast collection of books - magazines, novellas, travel guides etc for one to immerse themselves into, if you like reading (unlike me). They have a cute open garden on the other side totally covered with green plants and a dreamy white picket fence.
They know their quality and they charge your well for it but remember that you're not paying for just the food but the complete unique experience.
