No doubt, Delhi has got the best choices of restaurants for food from the world over. I tried the recently opened KRÉ, which offers Tapas (small plates) & Grills through their renowned Spanish Cuisine. Situated on the terrace above Gastronomica in the fashion & jewellery destination hub in the ever famous M Block GK 1 market, the place has entered this food diaspora with a bang. Though quite small, the terrace offers a sitting of around 50 people and is decorated with climbers and dim lighting that makes it even way more ambient. It is surely soon going to be a destination for much extravagant brunches & high teas in the upcoming winter season.
We started on the delicious signature Kré Olives served to us in a cocktail glass with some extra flavorful Red wine Sangria and Cheesy Garlic loaf. The Garlic loaf was crispy while the tastes of olives was bitter as well as sweet & garnished with balsamic vinegar! Smoked Paprika Water Chestnuts & Spaghetti Donuts followed in Veg appetizers. Yeah u heard it right...water chestnuts & savoury donuts! They were both quite above average in taste but crispy & crunchy respectively!!! I was clearly astounded by the Piri Piri Chicken Skewers and the Lemon Butter Prawns. While the skewers were clearly well cooked & extra juicy, it's gravy sauce was just ultimate to have with the mashed pineapple mayo salad!!! Nice combination there clearly!!! The lemon butter prawns were hooked upon a clay pot & it was quite a sight! They were garnished to perfection again! We really relished on the above two with our lagers.
For the main course, the highly recommended dish is the Fish Roulade. Salmon fish is rolled perfectly & cooked in stock & wine ... It was so succulent that it literally melted in our mouths as soon as taken inside it was clearly a dish for the day & a must have in case somebody likes to devour on the water beings! Chicken quenelles were quite creamy and flavorful indeed. These were clearly the stars of the main course! Coconut Pannacotta was the best way to end it all. It was on the less sweeter side yet fabulous in taste.
Service was good & the management has the right mix of food for it's grills and tapas to take it to the next level. All the best!!!
