For those who know this place from Kothachiwadi Girgaum, it's all nostalgia. The quaint little marble top tables bring back old memories. The taste elements are still the same. Met the owner Khadpe who carries on the family legacy. All in all a great place for a nice hearty meal. 😀😀😀

Iconic 80 year old Girgaum eatery comes home to Goa. I was deeply saddened when the Khotachiwadi vintage restaurant shuttered it was a sad day in Bombay. This restaurant which was once on the New York Times described as worth getting on a plane to eat at. The Penha de Franca establishment still have a woodfired Clay kitchen doling out fish thalis on the century old marble top tables.

Nice place. Good food. Tried the mutton thali(1 cup(waati) mutton with a large fried Dodiyaro) for Rs.170 and Surmai Thali for Rs.200. Both were delicious. Authentic Goan. An elderly gentleman served the food. We had reached early around 12:30pm and were the first and only people having lunch at the place. Was really calm and we enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again if I happen to pass by.
