A small eatery in Narayan peth, bang opposite kesari wada which serves some mouth watering dishes. We went there last Saturday on a whim and really loved the experience.
We ordered batata vada (which is what they are famous for), misal and a sabudana wada. All items were very nicely done. The sabudana wada especially was not the oily type that normally is served in some of the places. The items had a very distinct hot and sweet taste to them.
Overall I will give it 5 stars for - quick service, delicious food and the value for money factor. Our total bill came to less than 150/- for all 3 items.
Do go there definitely, batata wada is worth the hype. It's a very small place so if you are late then be prepared to wait for some time.
Visited this place yesterday evening. This snack center is one of the oldest snack centers in pune. Its around 70 yrs old. Here you get very few items like potato vada and curry, sabudana vada, meal pack... we ate vada and curry with 2 bread slices. Also ate sabudana vada.. awesome puneri taste.. enjoyed yesterday evening with hot vadas. The vadas are really very big sized..

#epic #batatawada
Folks at home had some last minute Diwali spending to do..
Prabha Vishranti Gruha was on my mind ever since Aniruddha had introduced it recently on the platform and this was a great opportunity to check it off of my list..
It opens at 4.30pm for evening snacks , and we were there bang on time (I made sure folks wrapped up their chores by the 4.30pm)
They have self service and an open kitchen - it is such pleasure to watch piping hot Sabudana and Batata Wadas rolling out of the assembly and straight into our plates... Beat that!
We ordered Batata Wadas with their really tangy and utter delicious Sample and their unique Misal with extra bread slices...
The batata wadas are mighty huge, full of stuffing that is low on turmeric and full of flavour with an extremely thin jacket..
You can have it with their signature Sample or without - either way, satisfaction is a given!
I’ll go a step further and say these were the best batata Wadas I have had in all of Pune.
Terrific..
The Misal isn’t spicy (almost bland for those Stone-Cold Katakirrr/Mamledaar fans) , and is served with a ‘Pohe’ base instead of the usual ‘Usal’...
The sample is rich and very palate-accommodating with fresh chopped onions and tomatoes.
Super crunchy peanuts within are a nice touch...
Misal fans dare not miss this sheer brilliance on a plate...
My only gripe, is that they don’t serve Chai and don’t use Pav to go with their rich Wadas and Misals..
But that aside, this is going to be my pit-stop in all my future Peth jaunts.
