The meals are especially good.
The oldest vegetarian hotel in Rasipuram.
The food taste has come down drastically over the years.
However, I must admit they make some good sweets & snacks.
Sweets like Mysore pack and others are ultimate and fresh.
But parking is a little bit negative.
Because it is located on the main road near the old bus stand.

This restaurant has been around for more than hundreds of year's. My uncle Mr. PA. Krishnan who is the colleague of our former president Mr.APJ Abdul Kalam and from Rasipuram once said the founder of Laxshmi Vilas used to stand early in the morning with his altimeter in his hands to check the milk's density to make a perfect filter coffee; by the milk which was brought by local milk vendors.
Its iconic dishes include:
1) Filter coffee
2) Badam halwa (a kind of almond budding )
3) Ghee dosa
Their products like coffee powder and paruppu & poondu podi ( fried dal and garlic powder to eat with rice ) also taste good. They have had their eatery for many years but they couldn't make up for the taste as they had to maintain it with sweets and snacks. Sadly, they haven't been expanding their brand to a global business which they highly deserve.

This is one of the oldest hotel in Salem District and located in Rasipuram. Rasipuram is famous for Desi ghee and this hotel is in the same place for more than 90 years. They are specialist in mysore pak and ghee uttappam. I had never tasted ghee uttapam any where. Its very crisp in both the sides as such it has been deep fried in ghee. This place is heaven and its must try once in your life time. Parking won't be an issue and service is very fast. Highly recommend place if you are travelling in and around salem.
