Don't remind me those thabak mass....
We were at Srinagar for a day and I want to try WAZWAN desperately. I listed restaurants at Srinagar who serves WAZWAN as Mugal darbar, Ahdoos, Kareem as per popularity.
We decided to try the cheapest among since we are new to this cuisine. Kareem a serves mini wazwan with METHI MASS, ROGAN JOSH, THABAK MASS, GUSTABA AND RISTA. The 5 star actually given for the dish.
I cannot rate this restaurant on the standards of a regular restaurant. Even though I can say the service, ambience and food quality is good here. The waiter told us to book in advance next time if we wish to try the full wazwan.
I loved the Thabak Mass so much so I went for dinner to have tabak mass Lone.😁
Mugal Barbara has more item in their WAZWAN for a higher price.
Probably the most authentic wazwan you could be offered in the city of srinagar. Yes , ambience etc could be upgraded and thats the reason for 4 star but when it comes to food and specifically wazwan? kareema tops the list !
Kareema stands as a culinary gem, boasting an unrivaled mastery over Kashmiri waazwan that elevates the dining experience to extraordinary heights. Having sampled various waazwan offerings in the vicinity, I can confidently assert that Kareema's rendition surpasses them all. The meticulous attention to authentic Kashmiri flavors and the expertly crafted dishes showcase a commitment to culinary excellence.
However, the restaurant's Achilles' heel lies in its lackluster entrance. A stark contrast to the culinary delight that awaits inside, the initial impression is underwhelming. My friends and I were momentarily taken aback, with the entrance failing to capture the essence of the gastronomic journey that lay ahead.
Moreover, the waiting time proved to be a test of patience. Standing for what felt like an eternity – approximately 10 minutes – within the cafe itself, we were left grappling with the anticipation of the feast promised by Kareema. While the delay was a minor hiccup, it did slightly dampen the overall experience.
Yet, once seated and served, any prior grievances dissipated. The service, despite the initial delay, was attentive and courteous. The star of the show, undoubtedly, was the impeccable quality of the waazwan. Each dish was a symphony of flavors, meticulously prepared and served with a commitment to authenticity that transported diners straight to the heart of Kashmir.
In conclusion, Kareema is a testament to the adage that good things come to those who wait. While the entrance and initial waiting experience leave room for improvement, the culinary journey that follows is nothing short of exceptional. For those seeking an unparalleled taste of Kashmiri waazwan, Kareema remains a must-visit, eclipsing its minor shortcomings with the brilliance of its gastronomic offerings. Long way to go Team Kareema. May Allah bless you all.
