Really beautiful palace surrounded by water situation in lake Pichola, Udaipur.
You can visit this palace by taking a boat ride from behind the City Palace. Ticket price is 450 Rs before 3 pm and 700 after that. It was a week end and we had to wait for almost an hour in the queue to get our turn for boat.
Once on board, you get a good long boat ride before reaching the Jag Mandir. (you can avoid the usual lake Pichola boat ride, if taking this one to save money and time).
On stepping inside the Jag Mandir, you will feel the royalty and pleasent atmosphere around. Mejastic architecture and refreshing garden. Only small portion of the palace is open for visitors (rest of the area is for only guests staying there).
There is a museum and places to sit, relax and admire the beauty of place and view of lake Pichola, city palace and Udaipur city in the backdrop.
Darikhana is the fine dine restaurant at Jag Mandir, situated on the edge of lake.
You can enjoy stunning view while enjoying your food from here. They have cover charge per person 1000 during lunch hour. The staff clearly inform at the entrance. Food is expensive with very ordinary service (very common thing in Udaipur restaurant) and taste but you pay for the experience.
You can spend max an hour or so and take back boat, not much of a waiting for that.
We had
1. White sauce pasta
2. Chicken seekh kababs
3. Ginger ale
4. Strawberry shake
I recently dined at a restaurant that truly impressed me. The food was not just delicious but outstanding. Each dish I tried was a culinary delight, and the attention to detail was evident.
What made the experience even better was the excellent hospitality. The staff was attentive, polite, and ready to accommodate any special requests, making the meal all the more enjoyable.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend to others looking for a combination of great food and exceptional service. I'm looking forward to returning soon.
Excellent ambiance, wonderful and attentive service by steward Laxman meena, and perfectly cooked meal by chef Ranveer. A must-visit for relaxing dinner after a long day of sightseeing in Udaipur. Special thanks to Bansi for giving us a tour of the place. Definitely visiting again!
