Just got here after being subjected to inordinate delay in presenting the menu card in a nearby and overly hyped up rooftop restaurant in a hotel. So left that place and searched for any nearby eateries that would serve hyegenic food at reasonable price. Spotted this restaurant just down the road near the Jagadish Temple near lake Pichola. Decided to go and give it a try.
As The locality is filled with old buildings with narrow alleys in between the buildings, expecting open and roomy areas would not be much wise. The access to the restaurant, that is Cafera Bollywood, is an astonishingly narrow staircase that spirals its way to the top where you would be greeted with some decent space with five tables which could dear some eighteen to twenty people. The window side tables give a clear view of the alley below wish is in my opinion a good view to have while having a casual sip of coffee or tea.
While we found the attitude of the person taking the orders (seemed like the co-owner of the restaurant) a little bit haughty but later found out that he was really exhausted that night as it was in the peak of season and had to serve a lot of guests before attending to us. We didn't mind his attitude though as the food he served was really up to the mark and that kind of mitigated what we felt talking to this guy.
Yes, the food in Cafera is really good. It was prepared with the right mix of all the ingredients- whatever those were as I have the least idea what goes into making a good kadhai chicken and vegetable chowmein. After having the food we had ordered we were content and satisfied. Regarding the vegetable chowmein I must say that I found it to be really good. It's after a long time that if tasted good vegetable chowmein.
But found the quantity that was served to be a little less, especially if there chowmein, vis a vis the price that was charged on the item. But nevertheless the items were good and I don't hold any reservations. Moreover the restaurant was beat and clean and the food was hyegenic. And that's what I care about the most while eating out.
The Cafera restaurant in Udaipur near Jagadish Temple near lake Pichola is really recommended.
Besides Jagdish Temple this Cafe has an ambience themed on Bollywood with many different posters. Seating is in two levels , uppermost has most space to it. But it was hot their as not even a single fan was their. The lower level had it though. They say they have changed owners so this problem.
There was only a single staff but he was enough for us four. He was cordial, polite and amiable. And yes made us some tasty food as well. You can go for north Indian Thalli and paranthas . It was delicious. If you are in Udaipur then must go here.
Had a great time at the restaurant. Paneer dishes were amazing. Hospitality is great. Mr. Mohit is very friendly. We loved the ambience and the food. You can try kuchdi also which was delicious
