After nearly 4 days without good food, I found it! Very surprised authentic Korean dishes here, with kimchi, BBQ (no beef), mixed rice and beer. Among the cold weather in Leh, you should come here for hot food to enjoy with your friends. Btw, the restaurant has very excellent sauces for BBQ ^^
Delicious Korean dishes in the middle of the Himalayas. As a lover of Korean food I had to try. Since then I've come back at least 4 times - twice it was too crowded so I had to wait.
If you have a favourite Korean dish that's not on the menu they might still be able to prepare it for you. I asked for Daenjang Jjigae and they prepared it especially for me. So good! 👍
The Amigo should get high marks for entrepreneurship and risk-taking. It's perhaps the only Korean restaurant in Ladakh. I've been around Leh for two mobths and couldn't spot another so far. Located on the ground floor of a beautiful guesthouse, it has an indoor dining area as well as outdoor seating in a courtyard adjoining the guesthouse's beautiful vegetable and flower garden. The menu has mostly Korean dishes, a cuisine still unfamiliar to most Indian travellers. Since it was breakfast time, I ordered Korean corn silk tea and stuck to safety by ordering a continental breakfast combo. The corn silk tea comes in a metal pot and has a very subtle taste. Too subtle for most Indian palates. The breakfast consisted of toast, fruit salad, porridge and black coffee. The toast, accompanied by butter and jam, was of white bread, something I avoid totally. The porridge was gooey. The best part of the breakfast was the fruit bowl of diced watermelon, bananas, canteloupe and mangoes. The americano that's part of the breakfast was strong and flavourful. I preferred to sip it slowly without any sugar, while enjoying the beauty of the flowers in the lovely garden.
